Give to the Max Day 2015

Give to the Max Day 2015 -TOMORROW, November 12th

LINK: https://givemn.org/project/Tyler-Area-Community-Foundation-Endowment-Fund

Each year, generous supporters like you celebrate Give to the Max Day by making your online donation on GiveMN.org. Your generosity on this day makes a difference far beyond the 24-hour giving event.

Your donation on Give to the Max Day also may help us receive an additional donation of $1,000.How? On November 12, every gift made on GiveMN.org will be entered into an hourly drawing for a $1,000 GiveMN Golden Ticket to be awarded to a nonprofit organization. That adds up to 24 opportunities for you to help us receive an extra $1,000!

Here’s the really exciting part: One donation made on GiveMN.org will be randomly selected at noon and at the end of Give to the Max Day to receive a $10,000 Super-Sized GiveMN Golden Ticket!

The more gifts we generate on GiveMN.org on November 12, the more our chances increase to receive that additional $10,000 donation.

Imagine what we could do with $10,000! Funds raised on Give to the Max Day will go toward our endowment fund, which is a permanent resource for the Tyler Area Community Foundation, with income used to make grants to area projects.

Be sure to mark your calendar and make your gift on November 12 by visiting GiveMN.org and searching for our organization or you can use the link above to go directly to our fund page. *Please feel free to share within your networks.

NEW PROJECT FUND - RTR Baseball Field in Ruthton

It is my pleasure to inform the Tyler Area Community that a new project fund has been opened to raise dollars for the RTR Baseball Field Project in Ruthton.  The project will allow the field to meet the MN State High School requirements for baseball fields.

The project was an idea of parents of the baseball players and has been supported by the RTR School Board.  The school has committed $36,000 for the project and the RTR Baseball Committee has indicated the desire to continue fundraising to make additional updates to the field.  The committee joined us for our foundation meeting in August and indicated that they have identified an additional $50,000 in equipment and project needs to finish the project.

The additional projects included part of the new scoreboard, additional ag lime for the field, grass seed and fertilizer, fencing for bullpens, expansion of the existing dugouts, maintenance equipment, a line marking machine and template for the batter's box, additional lighting, new sound system, larger concession stand, new bathrooms and a crow's nest for local media.  As you can see, there is still a lot of needs to make this a great baseball field.

If you would like to donate to the project, please mail your check to: TACF, PO Box 239, Tyler, MN 56178 and include a note that the donation is for the RTR Baseball Field Project.  The check can be made out to TACF and we will make sure that the donation is put in the project fund.  As always, all donations will receive a letter from our partners at the Southwest Initiative Foundation (SWIF) indicating that you made a tax deductible donation for this project.

Volunteers Needed for Jr. Achievement Program

Just received this request from Jr. Achievement of Lincoln County

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Junior Achievement needs volunteers in the RTR community to help out in Ruthton for all grades. The Junior Achievement Program is offered to all children ages Kindergarten through 6th grade. Volunteers will implement five 45-minute lessons with different educational packets to be presented to the school children. All of the lesson plans are already designed and put together for each particular grade. Volunteers and teachers collectively schedule times and dates for each session and all five lessons are to be completed before the end of the school year.

This program has been ongoing in all Lincoln County Schools for five years, is such a benefit for the children and is so rewarding for volunteers! Will you help?
